Today Mrs Thieme showed us a bowl of cooked spaghetti. She told us we were going to build a tower with cooked spaghetti and marshmallows. We talked about why this would not work.We then looked at uncooked spaghetti and the differences between the two!
We then had to choose a partner which took a little while! 🙂
In teams of two we worked together to construct something with 12 marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti! It was fun! it was also quite tricky as the spaghetti kept breaking. At the end we had to share out the marshmallows evenly between us.We then got to eat them! Mrs Thieme made sure we washed our hands before the activity! Not all of us wanted one.
As Mrs Thieme walked around, Ela and Sabrina were arguing over who had the most marshmallows after sharing them out. Ela pointed out the fact that Sabrina had 6 marshmallows in front of her and Ela had only 5. Mrs Thieme came over and counted with the girls. Ela was right! Sabrina did have 6 and Ela 5. Then Mrs Thieme noticed Ela had a marshmallow in her mouth! Without laughing even though she wanted to, the three of them recounted including the one in Ela’s mouth and the problem was solved!
